Shagari Sues For Exemplary Leadership

Second Republic president Alhaji Shehu Shagari has urged Nigerian leaders to always lead by example in order to enshrine good governance in the country.
Shagari stated this yesterday in his Sokoto residence when he received the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) presidential candidate and Kano State Governor, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau.
“The leaders should always lead by example. This is the only way the country will continue to get better.
“ I have seen a great future in you but you should emulate the late Sardauna of  Sokoto, Sir Ahmadu Bello as you are the Sardauna of Kano,’’ he added .
Shagari said that Nigerians expected much from Shekarau and added that “the people are expecting much during  the forthcoming polls.’’
Shekarau, in his address, described  Shagari as a respected elder statesman who is reverred by many Nigerians .
According to the Kano State governor, “Shagari is my mentor and he encouraged me to venture into politics.
“So I am here to pay homage , show respect and get more wisdom from my father and mentor.’
