The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Mr. Victor Ochei, has called on the National Assembly, to encourage the growth of the legislature to be at par with other arms of government.
He made this statement when members of the state House of Assembly, paid a courtesy visit to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwaal, in Abuja.
Ochei said the call stemmed from the fact that the legislature was the least developed among the three arms of government in the country.
He, therefore, enjoined Tambuwal to use his wealth of experience in the art of legislating to bring about the strengthening of the legislature, adding that the induction course for members of the Delta State House of Assembly was a way of advancing legislative ideals in the polity.
Ochei also noted that the visit was expected to promote a symbiotic relationship between the state legislature and the National Assembly.
