BENIN CITY (AFP) – Clashes that broke out after Muslims were violently targeted in Benin have left five people dead and more than 10,000 displaced, a Red Cross official said Tuesday.
“We have recorded so far five deaths — on both sides, those that have been attacked and the attackers,” said Dan Enowoghomwenwa, secretary general of the Nigerian Red Cross in Edo state, said
“We have over 10,000 internally displaced persons in various places."

Blame all these crisis on Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, the lazy President of Nigeria.
ReplyDeleteRed cross, what's the figures in Borno, Plataeu, Maiduguri, Kano and Niger states? How many people have been displaced and how many dead?
ReplyDeleteIt's obvious on whose side Red Cross is at, but the truth about Islamic insurgency is that anything beside Sharia is an enemy.
To the family of the dead; I am so sorry. May God Almighty have mercy and give you the strength to bear these loss of innocent lives.
ReplyDeleteThis is very sad day for all the people of Benin City. I have always thought Benin is different. I am shock and disappointed that some miscreants will take the laws into their hand.
Muslims and Hausa in Benin are good people. They provide valuable service. They contribute greatly to the economy of Benin City.
Can Benin City still be called the heartbeat of Nigeria? Nope -- I do not think so. We have to earn that respect because of our behaviour.
I hope and pray that everyone will heal from this. I hope and pray that this ugly incidence will not happen again in our great city.
Peace
