Reign of terror: Akpabio And IG Ringim Disobey Federal Court Order To Release Akpanudoedehe

              John Akpanudoedehe

By SaharaReporters, New York

The duo of Akwa Ibom State governor Godswill Akpabio and the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Hafiz Ringim, today brazenly disobeyed a Federal High Court order order releasing from prison custody the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) candidate, Akpanudoedehe.
Niyi Akintola (SAN) told Saharareporters today that his team served the release order on the IGP, the Comptroller of Prisons in Akwa Ibom as well as the Chief Magistrate who had ordered Akpanudoedehe's imprisonment, but that the federal officials have ignored it. Another legal team has also filed contempt proceedings against the IGP but Justice Bello Adamu's court did not sit today due to a bereavement in his family.
Governor Godswill Akpabio is waxing stronger in defiance of the courts of the land because he enjoys the support of Goodluck Jonathan, the president of Nigeria who has remained silent in the face of the persecution of a major opposition candidate by one of his dependable campaign allies.
"Who would have thought that tyranny would return to our national lexicon so quickly?" a political analyst said today.  "How in the world can Jonathan preside over this and yet claim be believes in the rule of law?"

It is always good to give everybody benefit of doubt. Rather than condenming Mr President and his IGP why not the Controller General of Prison (whose duty it is for such releases)?

The PDP and it allies are afraid of the popularity of Udoedehe, that is why they are employing every means to keep behind the bar, why Mr. President kept silent claiming rule of law. I still believe Mr. president does not have the strength of character to rule this country.

This whole episode stinks and reeks. Anarchy! GEJ at least save your family name, and let Nigerians remember you as someone who tried but failed due to the excess corruption baggage of the PDP. If I mention Abacha, majority thinks of the Butcher, sun-shaded leader who will kill without blinking, or IBB our mind quickly concludes Maradona, the evil Genius, or OBJ, we think of a very vindictive man. GEJ save your papa's name and order the immediate release of the ACN aspirant. Don't contribute to the woes of Nigeria. In an election it is not unusual for an incumbent to lose the support of his home-base. Let’s move away from sit-tight politics and start to honour the wish of the people. The voice of man is the voice of god. Remember whom the gods want to kill they first make mad.

Gregory is absolutely right Ordinarily The IG should be the one to enforce the law. But in this case a court of of competent jurisdiction should rule first that law have been violated by the IG. The defence lawyer has the right under the law to filé comtempt of court order against the IG. The law is clear in this matter, this man has 54 lawyers só he understands the magnitude of his case. The court should be the one to call IG to order or even prison him If found to have broken the law. Só please lets allow law to take its full cause

I am yet to understand the bickerings amongst the commoners that have aired their opnions on this pages. Stop for a moment to think; Why are we fighting amongst ourselves and calling each other out when the ones we should be calling to book are the inept and unaccomplished so called politicians.
Yes, we are all entitled to our own opinions because like eyes, we all have them, but we all do
not seem to see things the same way. Just like we all don't look alike ! What we need to do is learn to respect each other's opinion and understand that
from one's perspective the glass could be half full
whereas another sees it as half empty, but the bottomline must always be a concensus at working towards the betterment of our society. Where we fail to work towards a common goal, we will forever allow these incompetent imbeciles to take advantage of the populace and not be called to order. My prayer is that God should help us all.

  6. Invitation to Anarchy!!!

When Atiku said that those that make peaceful change impossible are surely calling for violent change; many Nigerians were calling him names especially those in government. When opposition are emasculated, it is a call to anarchy.Jonathan should be careful in towing the path of ignorminy his godfather(OBJ) towed.OBJ today is not popular among his own people bc we know him to be a traitor. If you want to know if a man is honourable, just go to his house, then you will get the anwsers you want.OBJ is not respected among his own people, they've stoned him many times. His own son accused him of sleeping with his wife.

Jonathan's attitude in supporting the illegality in Akwa-Ibom clearly shows that he's not a man that wants to win election in clean way. When an I.G & a desperate Governor wilfully disobey court orders, it is an invitation to more anarchy. It is true after all that IG (Ringim) has been bribed with 500M Naira to perpetrate this illegality. Their end shall be destruction & woes.

  7. The issue is respect for the rule of law regardless of the crime

The court have spoken, who the hell is the IG to detemin which court order to obey? the man was realeased on bail, the IG should have respect for our law courts otherwise he's not fit to be a policeman talkless of inspector general, law is law, you can't take law into your own hand regardless of the crime that might have been committed, it's for the court to decide, if the IG refuse to obey the court order gej can step inn because he is an appointee of gej so what the hell are you blind gej followers talking about? is this what to expect if he wins?everything is going wrong yet for some reason known to them still want us to keep singing jonathan, the man surronds himself with the most corrupt people in Africa and even make them his god fathers and advisers yet some people are supporting him blindly, they say show me your friends and i'll tell you who you are, fools.
